PLEASE NOTE: Due to the costs involved in managing transactions, the Foundation focuses on vessels valued in excess of $100,000.00. Other circumstances include the vessel's condition from a marine survey and marketing capabilities.

Consider a Donation of your yacht to the Virginia Maritime Heritage Foundation, owners and operators of the schooner Virginia.

What’s in it for you?

* Cut your costs – on the day that the title transfers to the Foundation we begin paying the bills
* Tax deductions – The Virginia Maritime Heritage Foundation is a registered 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization. You will receive documentation for the outright donation. Your donation is tax deductible within the limits set by the IRS. Check with your tax accountant for the specifics on how your donation may effect your tax liability.
* Pride – previous contributions has made  schooner Virginia a reality. When you see her sailing on the Chesapeake or around the world, you will know that you where a vital part of Virginia's maritime history, donating a boat--that built a boat!
* The Foundation works with a vessel documentation service to make the transaction smooth and seamless for you.

What’s in it for us?

* Financial– we accept your yacht as an outright donation, we will lease the vessel OR move quickly to re-sale the vessel in the yacht market place at an attractive price. The proceeds from the sale will go towards the operating budget of Virginia, which includes, education programs and the vessel's maintenance.
